 Although the International Cricket Council (ICC) has sent a draft schedule to participating teams, which suggests an enthralling match between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad, the final decision on this clash is yet to be determined pending approval from the Pakistani government. The PCB is currently in consultations with the government, and a decision is expected in the following week. The release of the official World Cup schedule, just over three months ahead of the tournament's first game on October 5, will provide more insight into the fixtures and venues. As per the draft schedule, Pakistan's campaign will commence on October 6 in Hyderabad against one of the teams emerging from the qualifying round. They will face another qualifier at the same venue on October 12. A highly-anticipated showdown against India is slated for October 15 in Ahmedabad, followed by matches against Australia in Bengaluru, Afghanistan and South Africa in Chennai on October 23 and 27, respectively. Subsequent matches against Bangladesh in Kolkata, New Zealand in Bengaluru on November 5, and England in Kolkata on November 12 will conclude Pakistan's league stage. However, the draft schedule does not provide details for the semi-finals and final of the tournament.

 The acceptance of the hybrid model is seen as a significant development for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), a bloc established in 1983 to safeguard the interests of cricketing nations in Asia.
